This course examines the multifaceted history of biblical interpretation across the centuries, inviting you on a fascinating historical journey full of unexpected twists and turns. These include developing interpretive methods and examining the impact of historical events on Jewish and Christian communities, emphasizing our connection to these faith traditions. We will carefully examine the biblical text, focusing on how early followers of Messiah Yeshua faithfully understood and interpreted the Holy Scriptures of Moses, the Prophets, and the Writings.

Dr. Igal German
Dr. Igal German, a professor of the Hebrew Bible, brings a unique perspective as a Messianic Jewish apologist. Dr. German is the founding director of Yesod Bible Center (https://yesodbiblecenter.com/) and Faith Defenders International (https://www.bibleapologist.org/). Dr. German taught Bible and Hebrew classes across Canada and the United States, including at Wycliffe College, Moody Theological Seminary, Denver Seminary, North Park University, and Spertus Institute. His passion for biblical scholarship drives his work, specializing in the Hebrew Bible in its ancient Near Eastern context; Second Temple Judaism; biblical theology and intertextuality; Biblical and Modern Hebrew; Jewish-Christian dialogue; post-supersessionist theology and preaching; Messianic apologetics; and counter-cult apologetics.
