March: Current Events in the Middle East
Thurdays in March (March 4, 11, 18 and 25 2027) at 1:00 PM Eastern
Since October 7, 2023, the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East has undergone rapid and far-reaching transformation. Regional wars, shifting alliances, and the rise and fall of regimes have reshaped the region in ways that are complex and often difficult to follow.
This course is designed to provide a clear and structured understanding of these developments. It will:
- Break down and clarify the key events shaping the Middle East since October 7.
- Analyze Israel’s role in these developments and assess their impact on the country.
- Explore possible future scenarios, helping participants make sense of where the region may be headed with particular focus on the prospects of Israel’s regional integration.
Meet Your Instructor
Jason Silverman PhD Candidate
Jason Silverman is Director of Research and Policy at the Economic Cooperation Foundation (ECF). He is an expert on Israeli foreign policy and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict where he has been involved as an advocate for Israeli-Palestinian relations for the past decade. He is a PhD candidate in International Relations at Hebrew University and is a combat reservist in the IDF. His writing has appeared in the Times of Israel and the Jerusalem Post. Jason also writes weekly on his Substack channel called This Strange and Holy Land. Jason and his wife Hadas and their three children live in Jaffa, Israel.
