The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and its amendments guarantees students access to their educational records and permits the student to review and inspect this evaluation and to challenge its content. Under the legislation, candidates for admission are entitled to waive their rights of access concerning recommendations written on their behalf if the recommendation is used solely for the purposes of admission. To provide your references with the option of confidentiality, you may elect to waive your right to inspect or challenge the contents of the recommendations. MJTI will hold the content of these recommendations in strict confidence. Note: MJTI does not require that you make such a waiver as a condition for admission, but it is appreciated.
