Rabbinical Ordination Institute (RO'I)

Students seeking Rabbinical ordination from the UMJC (or rabbinical training outside the UMJC) should apply for joint admission to the Rabbinical Ordination Institute and the School of Jewish Studies Master of Jewish Studies degree program. See the Program Guide for further information about the ordination program.


Students who would like to take RO'I courses without being admitted to a program should apply for admission as a RO'I Student-at-Large. In that case, please fill out the Combined SJS and RO'I Student-at-large application.

School of Jewish Studies

Students who are not seeking Rabbinical ordination but are looking for a graduate degree program in Messianic Jewish studies should apply for admission to the MJTI School of Jewish Studies Master of Jewish Studies degree program. This is a completely online program that offers a combination of accessibility with excellence in education. See the Program Guide for further information about this distance learning program.


Students who would like to take courses in MJTI without working toward a degree should apply for admission to the School of Jewish Studies as a Student-at-Large. In that case, please fill out the Combined SJS and RO'I Student-at-large application

Madrikh (Licensure) Program

Students who are seeking to earn the UMJC Madrikh (licensure) certificate may apply for admission as a combination SJS and RO'I Student-at-Large. They must meet the qualifications for the SJS Student-at-Large in order to be admitted in this status. Registration for the conference- and retreat-related Madrikh courses takes placethrough the UMJC website. See the Program Guide for further information about this program.
